One of the best parts about university has to be the societies. These ‘extra-curricular’ clubs range from sports teams, to charity work, and even to political rallies. Some universities have many hundreds of societies, and there are some extremely weird ones out there…

Brum Dine With Me – University of Birmingham

This is exactly what it says on the tin. If you’ve ever watched Come Dine With Me you’ll understand the pull. Each person makes a meal for the group, and at the end you vote on your favourite! This is a great way to meet new friends and enjoy free food!

Karaoke Society – University of Liverpool

Think you’re a bit of a singer? At Karaoke Society, you can sing your heart out to all your favourite songs. Liverpool has a range of Karaoke bars, and it’s a great society to get involved in!

Hummus Society – LSE

Are you a lover of hummus? The ever-popular dip has managed to get its own society at LSE, where events are run on a regular basis including a ‘Hummus Making Master Class’  and more! 

The Quidditch Club – Oxford University

The perfect society for Harry Potter lovers. There are actually a few universities with a Quidditch Club, meaning you can actually play against other universities with is pretty cool!

Stitch and Bitch – Leeds

One of the most infamous societies in the UK, it helps bring knitting and stitching to the modern age. After all, who doesn’t love a good bitch?
