Established in 1963 and with teaching space initially for around 1200 students, UEA is now home to 17,000 students. We are ranked in the top 25 in the UK (The Times/Sunday Times 2020 and Complete University Guide 2020), and the World Top 200 Universities (The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020).
With a founding ethos of interdisciplinarity and a strong sense of community we have established an international reputation with our Norwich campus providing high quality academic, social and cultural facilities for undergraduate and postgraduate students from around the world.
Just two miles from the centre of Norwich, England’s first UNESCO City of Literature, we are located on the Norwich Research Park – a world leading centre for environment, health and plant science research, which is also home to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.
Our richly diverse research base is embedded in our outstanding teaching and world-leading academics are connected with society, government and industry alike.
